FRIENDS and family of a Poole woman who died in a holiday accident have been paying tribute to the "lively young woman who would light up a room".

Lisa Bundy, 21, from Canford Heath, had been on holiday with two friends in St Antonio, Ibiza, when she fell from her hotel window while her friends were asleep.

Her family were told that she had died from the head injuries she sustained in the fall from the third storey room and that she had probably been sitting on the windowsill of her hotel room at the time.

The friends who were with Lisa Kim Devlin and Debbie Fielding were forced to return to England early, without knowing the full circumstances of her death.

Kim said: "We got back in and made coffee, then I went to bed. Then at 3am we were woken by Spanish police who pointed at the basement where Lisa had fallen, but they did not speak much English so it was hard to comprehend what had happened."

Lisa's dad Shaun Bundy, said: "I received a call at about 6am from Debbie's dad telling me what had happened. I knew as soon as he phoned that something tragic had happened.

"It took two weeks to get her body back, even though no inquest took place over there.

"I would like to give my sincere thanks to Gravel Hill Police station, especially Sgt Andy Edwards, without whose help we would have been completely lost."

Tributes are still pouring in from friends of Lisa, who had been working in the Pathology Unit at Poole Hospital, including Kim, who said: "She was very funny.

"She was also kind and caring and was the best friend you could hope to have."

Debbie said: "She was always happy and would bring you up if you were down.

"She also treated everyone the same. I know she was looking forward to getting her own flat and a car, and she talked about holidays she wanted to go on in Florida."

Kathy Bartlett, who went to Canford Heath First School with Lisa before she moved on to Ashdown School, said: "She was a great friend and I will not forget her, especially her laugh.

"She always had a smile on her face."

Lisa's funeral service will take place at St Paul's Church in Canford Heath on Wednesday.
