Daughter asks to confront Weymouth dad's killer after 10 years

THE daughter of a man murdered in Weymouth wants to confront her dad’s killer.

Michelle Siala says that 10 years after the crime she wants to ask her the murderer: ‘Why did you kill my dad?’ Michelle was pregnant with her father Frank’s first grandchild when he was stabbed and killed by Edward Kromer in a Great George Street flat in the summer of 2000.

She had not seen her father for 10 years when he was killed and was too upset to try to find anything out about him at that time.

But Miss Siala has now decided she wants to find out more.

She said: “I want the chance to hear why he killed my dad and even if he can’t tell us that then I need to know what my father was like in those last few years. Did he talk about us?”

Mr Siala was attacked by Kromer with a kitchen knife in the early evening of July 18, 2000.

He died of organ failure in Dorset County Hospital on July 22.

Miss Siala added: “The last that I heard Kromer had tried for parole and it had been rejected.

“I would like to know if he feels any remorse.”

Miss Siala, who lives in Scotland, would also like to hear from people who knew her father.

Mr Siala was known by several different names including Faysal Siala, Frank Siala and ‘Frankie the Arab’.

He is believed to have emigrated to Edinburgh from Tunisia in 1975 before moving to Weymouth in 1995 and settling in Queen Street.

Miss Siala decided she wanted to find out about her father after coming across a Dorset Echo story online. She said: “I was informed by police that he had died at the time. I was unable to take in much information. I’ve now stumbled across the Echo website.

“For once I was actually able to read the information and take it in as opposed to someone telling me it years ago.

“I was so upset then that I didn’t understand.” Kromer was sentenced to life imprisonment at Winchester Crown Court in January 2001.

The Ministry of Justice and the Parole Board would not confirm his current whereabouts.

His defence barrister Peter Kyte was unavailable for comment.

People Mr Siala might have known include Peter Richards, known as Morecambe Pete, Barbara Anne Critchell, Anne McDade, Stephen Hall and Jeremy Todd.

Edward is my uncle, he is in no way innocent and deserves the time he is serving. But why are reports always so one sided? It is alleged Frank Sialla was a drug user and pulled the knife first...What would you do!

this is all down to the effects of drink. no one is saying it was one sided it was'nt...... its more to do with the fact that michelle did not grow up with her dad and wants to know what sort of character her father was...... it was a known fact that they did not like each other, but came in contact with each other due to drinking with the same people, some days there would be 10/15 people drinking in one room, white lightning would go round and round neat vodka whiskey sherry you name it it would be there no food just booze...... giro drinkers who ever got the giro bought the booze 3/4 people carrying it back at a time it did not last very long so they would be back off to the shops for more....... this is a fact..... we would start drinking as soon as our eyes were open looking for the first shop to open that sold drink ...... there is no sides it was an accident waiting to happen.... just a shame someone lost there life and the other is serving life

I had the pleasure of arresting Edward Kromer not for this offence but for shoplifting. IMHO he was a despicable, arrogant nasty person.I thought at the time he could be capable of killing someone. He deserves to be locked away for good
