IF he could only talk... Jack Russell puppy Buddy is back with his owners after being dognapped in a van.
The 10-month-old terrier went missing from the back garden on his home in Ringwood Road, Parkstone, Poole, around 5pm on Friday.
Frantic owner Daniel Roberts, 29, scoured the streets. Fifteen minutes later, he found a workman two doors away who had seen a man in a high-visibility jacket open the passenger door of a red Ford Transit van and pull Buddy in by the scruff of his neck. The man then drove off.
Daniel, who runs a marquee hire business, was worried that Buddy had become the latest victim of a string of suspected dognappings of young Jack Russell terriers.
But he and his partner Jocelinn Bowen, 28, were relieved when they received a call from Poole dog wardens to say Buddy had been found overnight.
“He’s completely fine, just exhausted,” said a relieved Daniel. “He’s had lots of water and lots of food. He’s probably been through a lot. We still don’t know where he was found or whether he was dropped off.”
Also pleased to see Buddy was the couple’s two-month-old Shitzu pup Holly. “He’s her protector. She has never been on her own before. She’s happy now,” said Daniel.
