Rescue must raise more funds or close

A NEW Forest animal rescuer has appealed for further festive funding in a bid to keep her vital service up and running into the New Year.

Kim Taylor, who runs New Forest Animal Rescue, says they cannot take any more cases over the Christmas period, putting animals’ lives at risk.

The service, which takes in cats, dogs and rabbits from across the area and finds them foster homes, could cease to exist due to rising costs and expensive veterinary bills.

An appeal last month managed to raise around £650 but Kim, who also works as a carer to subsidise the rescue centre, says there is still a large amount outstanding.

She said: “We would like to thank everyone who very kindly donated in response to our previous plea.

“The support has been amazing but there is still a long way to go.

“Unfortunately we cannot help out any more rescue cases until we have paid off the full amount.

“We know Christmas is coming and everyone is feeling the pinch but please, if you can donate a bit more then please do so.”

She said she had just received a call from someone whose son had some unwanted kittens.

“While he has managed to re-home most of them, two of them have been kicked out into the cold.

“I dearly want to take them in but we already have such limited resources that we are unable to help them.”

According to Kim, the abandoned kittens are just the tip of an enormouse iceberg.

Staffordshire bull terrier Dizzy, who is currently being fostered in Cornwall, is still looking for a permanent home since she came to the centre a year ago.

Kim added: “She’s a lovely dog that just loves cuddles.

“It breaks my heart to say no to animals but I have no choice unless I can persuade people to donate to us.”

Kim can be contacted on 02380 899589.

She had a call from a kid that kicked two kittens out in the cold.
What happens the next time this cat has another load of offspring?
Maybe if he euthanased the kittens mother there would be no problem!
There are people starving out there and Kim is worried about , ......what?

What a miserable human being.

Yes billions of humans are starving and they deserve help.

Kim Taylor is showing some kindness helping animals and all you can do is moan.

This article states

So why are these people not being prosecuted for the mis-treatment of these animals?

Laurie H Marsh, you should be ashamed of yourself!! Totally agree with stuartc73.

"Billions are starving" and a few cats die.
Hullo?
Maybe if some of those billions(?) ate a few cats some of them would survive!
Time to make a choice!
You have the nerve to call ME a miserable human being!
I would like to welcome you people to the human race but I guess cats come first!
I hope you people are never REALLY hungry.

no humans always ome first which is why rescues suffer so much because of people dumping animals when things get tuff !

where are these billions i ask ?
do they work ?
kim is one of those who often goes with out food just so she can pay her vet bills or buy pet food,

if you dont like animals then please dont reply and let people decide who they would like to donate too ,
there are many people or children who have there own causes and poeple donate to these causes the animals lose out big time as they are often forgotten is it not up to indivduals who they donate to i for one donate to many human charitys as well as animal ones , hey shaz ?

Have any of you people ever seen a child die of starvation and not be able to do a thing to help?
I have. It is the ugliest thing imaginable.
To hell with the cats!
