Value House in Weymouth has supported the Dorset Echo’s Christmas Toy Appeal since the store opened.

Staff will be throwing their weight behind the 10th anniversary campaign again this year.

Value House opened on Mandeville Road in Wyke Regis three years ago and welcomed the Echo’s bins into the store.

General manager Lee Mitchell said they have always had a great response from customers, especially once it draws closer to Christmas.

He said: “Each year many customers come in and buy toys specifically to put in the bin.

“I think any cause, but particularly when it involves children, is a good cause and one worth supporting and the customers recognise that.

“We have lots of toys from all different prices so we can cater for every budget, and also for every age with the products we stock.

“From remote control cars, dolls, action figures, Lego, puzzles and games, we really do have gifts that go right across the board.

“We do like to support causes like this in anyway we can.

“As a company we always put in around £50-£100 worth of toys in the bin a little while before Christmas.”

Mr Mitchell added that he would like to thank customers for their generosity because they make the appeal work.

He said: “Christmas is the time to give and you will be giving not just a gift, but joy this Christmas to a child that is deserving.

“Thank you to everyone who has helped the cause and we would like to wish everyone a merry Christmas from the staff at the Value House.”
