Man seriously hurt after car lands on its roof near Poole - UPDATED

A MAN was seriously injured after the car he was in overturned on the A3049 outside Poole’s new fire station in the early hours of Monday morning.

He was rushed to Poole hospital after the incident on the eastbound carriageway at the A350 Holes Bay North Roundabout, but was later transferred to Southampton Hospital.

A 21-year-old man left the scene and sparked a police search. He was later arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving after a passer-by in Wool reported a man was lying in the road at 4.20am.

The two other occupants of the car, an 18-year-old man and a 22-year-old woman, were also arrested.

Police are trying to trace the male driver of a Ford Mondeo, who rushed to the fire station to report the accident.

Poole traffic was brought to a standstill on Monday morning as huge tailbacks afflicted the area.

The road finally re-opened around 1pm. The accident, involving a green VW Passat, left a large amount of debris on the road.

Only thing I noticed was the lack of traffic this morning at 8:30. Roads were empty as people avoided the area. Seems like joy riders from the report above.

Gent's i think you missing to point of "have you say".
it's all to petty, people have been hurt today in this accident. think of these people instead of arguements between yourselves.

The internet is a wonderful thing, because it makes me so thankful that I don't know any of you personally.

I drove to work (Westbound) at 9am and the traffic was back to the Bakers Arms.

From the wreckage it looked like the car approached the roundabout at high speed, and clipped the side of it, knocking tonnes of rubble into the road, and then it went and overturned, parking itself right by the fire station. They must have been driving at a hell of a speed.

No point in debating accidents anymore, they are going to happen, most of them due to an error by someone involved.

Much more fun to act tough on the internet.
