LUKE Priest admits he harbours no ill will against Bournemouth after being released so they could bring in Danny Warwick.

The 22-year-old, who only made four appearances for Buccaneers, said: “I can see why they have done it. I can totally understand.

“I’ve only ridden a small amount of meetings for Bournemouth because I’ve had a problem with my bikes and my back injury.

“So I was in danger of having one of the lowest averages and going to reserve.

“If I was at reserve, I could do a good job, but if I’d had a fixture clash with Workington, they could only bring in a three-point rider or below in my place, not use rider replacement, and they weren’t prepared to do that.”

Luckless Priest, who has since also been dropped by Premier League Comets, added: “Danny lives in Poole, so it makes sense for Bournemouth to bring him in.

“It’s just a pity for me. It was important for me to get some good meetings in the National League, but I really haven’t got going at the moment.

“There are no hard feelings. It’s just unfortunate because I feel I haven’t been given a fair run yet.

“I’m very disappointed, but hopefully I’ll get something sorted.

“I spoke to Garry May and we both said we hoped it would be a short-term thing because I do want to come back to Bournemouth.

“It was a brilliant opportunity and it was a shame it hasn’t worked out.

“I did the least amount of laps with Bournemouth than anyone else in the team. I had a terrible first meeting at Poole when I crashed in every race, but I had a better second meeting against King’s Lynn.

“But there are no real excuses. I just need to get myself sorted out.

“If there’s an opportunity to go back to Bournemouth I will.”
