BOURNEMOUTH’S bid to buck the recession and regenerate the entire town-centre area has been handed a £500,000 boost.
The South West Regional Development Agency is investing the money into the town-centre master vision project, which will help the council form a regeneration company with a private partner.
Bournemouth Borough Council will transfer assets into the company, which the chosen developer will match in cash.
This pot will then be used to build new tourist attractions, shops, homes and offices.
The council aims to begin the search for a private partner in September.
