SISTERS Liz and Lou Gardiner completed a north to south fundraising bike ride for their step-dad Jack Burkitt.

They completed the ride for Jack, who had been fighting Motor Neurone Disease, before he died recently.

Liz and Lou, who were brought up in Weymouth, raised over £7,000 for the Motor Neurone Disease Association (MND) from the ride.

The duo spent five days on the road and covered 312 miles.

They started out at Lou's house in Ramsbottom, north Manchester, and made their way through Oxford and Winchester to Dorset.

They were welcomed at the family home in Broadstone by Jack, family and friends at the end of their ride.

They are pictured arriving at their mum Waveney and step-dad Jack's house and also with friends, family, MND representatives, their mum and Jack to celebrate the success of the event.
