REJECTED by Ralph Lauren? Dismissed by Dolce and Gabbana?
Gents, if you have the sparking eyes and dazzling smile but the 50-inch waist to go with it, you may just have found the modelling job you've been searching for.
“You can’t get giant mannequins and just photographing the clothes on hangers doesn’t look good.”
Matt Wildeman
Big Matt's outsize menswear shop in Parkstone is after Dorset's next top model for its winter collection.
Owner Matt Wildeman has scoured agencies as far as London looking for his king-size male model but no-one has been able to help.
"It has been a nightmare trying to find models," said Matt.
"Agencies have plus-size girls but not men.
"You can't get giant mannequins and just photographing the clothes on hangers doesn't look good."
So Matt is appealing for men with waists of 44 inches upwards and chests in excess of 48 inches to become the face of his shop and website.
A professional photographer is already lined up for the shoot and Matt believes anyone who comes forward could find a career in front of them.
He said: "There must be a market out there for this type of model.
"I know of about 40 other shops like mine online who have the same problem."
Big Matt's opened on Ashley Road in December 2006 to sell "affordable, stylish clothes" for men sized XXL upwards.
"The clothes in high street shops make you look like either Demis Roussos or your grandad," said Matt.
"There are a lot of big guys around who have real difficulties finding clothes."
If you think you can be the model Matt is looking for, contact him on 01202 710008 or e-mail sales@bigmatts.com.

Brilliant! Having had the problem of buying big clothes for a big person I think this is a great idea and very definitely has a niche in the market. :-)

All Seeing Eye Firstly why does it always have to resort to verbal abuse "Then you go on being a mug". Did anyone pass comment when you said you shopped on EBay, no I do not think so. If someone, like myself I might add wishes to shop using local retailers then that is also there prerogative, without any malice being passed. I am off to Big Man.
