A MAN has been jailed after stealing expensive jewellery from a Bournemouth jewellers.
Alois-Beny Vatamanelu stole a gold necklace to the value of £1650 from Roses of Bournemouth Jewellery Shop in Wimborne Road on January 17.
The 28-year-old had also stolen a ring valued at £1,400 from Jewel House in Dorchester the day prior.
Vatamanelu, of Bournemouth, appeared in Poole Magistrates’ Court for sentencing on March 21 having admitted to two charges of theft.
He was also sentenced for a charge of failing to surrender to custody at court on February 19 having been released on bail.
The defendant was jailed for 25 weeks, and ordered to pay compensation of £3050.
The court heard how Vatamanelu had a “flagrant disregard for people and their property”.
