AT just 13 years of age Tiffany Hannam-Daniels is already looking like a young performer with a real future.
She had an outstanding year in last month's Bournemouth Festival, winning the Junior Championship (15 and under) and was also awarded the most outstanding overall competitor in the entire speech and drama section.
En route to the championships she was placed in every class she entered, with five first places and three thirds, including two adjudications of outstanding (all the rest were distinctions!) Tiffany, who has been a pupil at Bournemouth's Swish of the Curtain Theatre School for the past six years and attends the town's Talbot Heath school, had a leading role in the feature film True, True Lies a couple of years ago which was filmed in Romania.
Since then she has done a voiceover for the feature film 1408 based on the Steven King novel, starring John Cusack and Samuel L. Jackson.
She has also appeared in every Swish of the Curtain production since joining.
The theatre school achieved 30 first places for speech and drama in poetry, acting, Shakespeare, duologues etc, and over 10 first places in singing.
Tiffany was also awarded the Donald Willoughby award for the most outstanding competitor.
Isabella Sedgwick, 11, was the runner-up and following her run as Jane Banks in the West End production of Mary Poppins has just rejoined it for its national tour.
Three sisters also won numerous awards in drama and singing. Leah Pitt, 18, won the senior championship for the second year in a row and Megan Pitt, 20, was runner-up. Alice Pitt,16, also won several classes.
Swish also entered the group singing for the first time and won the musical theatre section with a mark of outstanding.
A celebration concert of many of the winning pupils in drama, dance and song will be showcased at the Regent Centre on July 20.
The event will also feature the talents of Sophie Rundle, 20, who leaves the school this year to go to RADA; Dominic Smith, 18, who is off to Mount View Theatre School, and Isabella Sedgwick who will become a full-time pupil at Sylvia Young Theatre School.
