A NEW toenail cutting service is now available for people over 50 in West Dorset and Purbeck.

The service is being funded by the Dorset Partnership for Older People Project.

Representatives from Age Concern have set up locations in Swanage, Bere Regis, Yetminster and Sherborne where people can book appointments.

The service costs £8.50 per session and people must buy their own nail cutting sets at £10 each.

For more information contact West Dorset co-ordinator Debbie Simpson on 07971 338991.

Is this a joke? Firstly, why don't they cut their own toenails? I'm over 50 but wouldn't dream of empoying someone to cut my toenails - especially at £8.50 a go. Thats 85p per nail

What a superbly interesting article posted during Sunday Lunch!
I realy do question the editors taste and timing for this important news and question who is employed on a Sunday to bring these important items of news?
Oh well, best get back to making the toe-nail gravy to pour over the pigs trotters!

Lets hope you dont ever become infirm or disabled. Not everyone is able to bend or have full movement in their arms and fingers. Chirpodists are hard to come by, let alone expensive. I have a job to tie up shoe laces never mind cut my nails due to arthritis. I will qualify on age in afew weeks time, and I for one will be making use of this service.

nige - shame on you. You are out of touch with the human condition.

Dorch, here's strength to your elbow - don't get cut up about it! (currently, you can't do anything to stop the progress of arthritis, so best develop a sense of humour)
