TEENAGER Seb Green has passed John o' Groats on his round Britain charity walk.

The 18-year-old made an overnight stop at the famous Scottish landmark before beginning the long journey back to Weymouth down the western side of Britain.

His journey up the eastern side has taken less than 100 days and seen Seb battle the elements and meet many well-wishers.

Unfortunately, not everyone has been kind.

Supporters were forced to remove a link from Seb's website sebsodyssey.org.uk which enabled people to follow his progress using satellite technology.

Lead supporter Mary Harper said Seb was confronted by a lorry driver who had used the link to find him.

Seb was subjected to a tirade of verbal abuse' by the driver who accused him of lying about fundraising for the RNLI.' Mrs Harper, who said she was deeply saddened' by the whole episode, said Seb has never proclaimed to be raising money for the RNLI, and is instead helping to spread the sea safety message by distributing cards and giving talks to youngsters.

Despite this, Mrs Harper said Seb's journey has been an uplifting experience on the whole and the team have been overwhelmed by people's generosity.

Seb aims to raise £20,000 for the Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance and the Starlight Children's Foundation.

The figure is estimated to be the cost of a rescue in 2005 when Seb became stranded in the Fleet and had to be airlifted by the coastguard helicopter. He planned the walk to make amends.

Seb, from Littlemoor, is walking with his dog Flash and hopes to be back in Weymouth for his 19th birthday in November.

As well as collecting for the charities, supporters are keen to keep Seb's walking fund topped up so he has enough money for food and equipment.
