HUNDREDS of people - including more than 200 youngsters - got all adventurous at a special open day in Weymouth.
Crowds tried their hands at a range of activities including rock climbing, caving and orienteering at the free Weymouth Outdoor Education Centre (WOEC) event.
Staff at the Knightsdale Road centre also used the day to launch their new Saturday morning kayaking club for children.
The open day was organised by WOEC to celebrate its 44 years of providing activities to the local community.
Other pursuits on offer for youngsters and parents alike included Iron Age fire lighting, judo and belly dancing.
WOEC manager John Perham said: "It was very successful in spite of the wet weather.
"We had over 200 young people and around 100 adults having a go at all the activities."
The new kayak club has been supported by Awards for All and the National Lottery Fund who awarded the club £10,000 to purchase kayaks, paddles and a trailer.
Staff and members of the Isle of Portland Canoe Club were on hand at the open day to promote the club to young people interested in kayaking.
