WOMEN are being urged to sign up to the Daily Echo-backed Lewis Manning Hospice Starlight Stroll and help raise funds.
One person who knows just how important the hospice is to people is Juliette Murphy.
The 46-year-old from Kinson is currently in remission for breast cancer and attends the hospice's lymphedema clinic.
Lymphedema is a side effect that can happen during or after treatment for breast cancer and involves the swelling of the soft tissue of the arm or hand. Since developing the condition, Juliette has had to attend the clinic to have her arm bandaged to keep the swelling compressed and have a compression sleeve and glove made.
Speaking about the hospice in Poole, Juliette said: "It's absolutely fabulous and the people there are great. It really is such a lovely place to be.
"The staff are very welcoming and the treatment I have been getting is first class.
"I was really shocked when I was diagnosed and without the hospice being there I wouldn't be getting the treatment I am.
"Anyone could be in this situation at any time in their lives and I would encourage people to sign up to the Starlight Stroll and help keep the hospice running."
Juliette is one of hundreds of women who have signed up to take part in the Starlight Stroll at midnight on Saturday March 15.
The course runs from Durley Chine to Boscombe Pier and back.
The registration fee is £5 for adults and £2.50 for children with a minimum sponsorship of £25 for adults and £10 for children.
