REALISTIC reconstructions of 999 calls are being released by police to highlight the emergencies they have to deal with at Christmas.
The Silent Night audio message, which includes examples of drink-driving, burglary and domestic violence incidents, can be downloaded from the Dorset Police website.
The site also contains seasonal safety information which people may find useful.
It includes personal safety tips, drink-driving campaign information and home security advice.
Chief Constable of Dorset Police Martin Baker said: "We hope that the realistic portrayal of calls we receive and incidents we attend during the festive season will help members of the public appreciate that their actions can affect not only themselves but others around them.
"We want to ensure that people in Dorset have a safe and enjoyable time over the Christmas and new year period and hope our web page will highlight to them that although Christmas is an opportunity for enjoyment, it also is a time to be safe."
Police say the creation of a dedicated page on the website continues the work that is going on in communities.
The site will be continually updated over the festive season. Visit www.dorset.police.uk
