CULTURES from across the world were celebrated at West Dorset's first multi-cultural day.
A range of activities were lined up from drumming workshops to food preparation and children were able to try their hands at a variety of sports and circus skills.
The event at Dorchester's Dorford Centre was opened by poet Louisa Adjoa Parker, who lives in Lyme Regis, and was also attended by Dorchester Mayor Councillor David Barrett. It was run by the South West Dorset Multicultural Network.
Network member Gail Aldwyn said: "For more than 30 years, communities across the UK have celebrated black history during the month of October and this Multicultural Celebration Day provides a unique opportunity to highlight the important contribution black and ethnic minority people make to our multicultural society."
