CELEBRITY chef James Martin returned to the New Forest hotel where he once worked to give two cookery demonstrations.
The Ready Steady Cook and Strictly Come Dancing star proved a popular draw at the award-winning Chewton Glen.
Angela Day told the Daily Echo: "James worked here for a couple of years before becoming famous.
"He is still very friendly with our executive chef Luke Matthews and they share a passion for trying to promote local ingredients.
"Originally James was only planning to put on one demonstration at lunchtime but it was so popular he decided to put on an evening presentation as well."
Angela added: "James is a such a great character and very hands-on too. His shows aren't too highbrow and the dishes he prepares are simple but beautifully executed."
