POLICE are not treating the death of Karleen Pang as suspicious.

Grandmother Mrs Pang, 67, died after falling overboard from cruise liner Oceana early on Sunday morning.

Her body was recovered by the Calshot RNLI inshore lifeboat from the Thorne Channel in the Solent later that day.

A spokesman from Hampshire Police said: "We are no longer treating the incident as suspicious. The post mortem examination revealed she died as a result of injuries consistent with falling into water from an 80ft drop.

"Our investigations have not revealed anything suspicious. If we do get more information then we would reopen the investigation.

"The family has been informed."

This is so sad but I am curious how you fall from a liner,I was a merchant seaman for many years, and the only people who fell off a ship(very few) were those who sat on the rail, which is quite adequate in hight to prevent people falling over, when messing about.I cannot imagine that Mrs Pang would be doing this especially early in the morning.Never the less my thoughts go out to the Pang family at this time.

We count Karleen and Pang as personal friends and were looking forward to seeing them soon at our grand daughters Christening.
We share totally the grief of Karleens passing.
She was such an outgoing lady, always ready to help and support all whom she knew and whose lives she enriched with her presence.
Karleen Pang was one in a million!

I still can not quite believe this sudden and tragic news. Karleen was the most caring and loving person you could hope to meet. Like so many people we were customer's in the first instance, but over time Karleen and Pang made you feel part of the family.

I only bumped into her a couple of weeks ago and she was very happy.
Our thought's are with you all at this time.

My condolences to Mr Pang, Ka-ling and Kim. Mrs Pang has been very kind to me when I worked as a chef in Mr Pang's Restaurant. My family was back in Hong Kong when I worked for her and she always look after me during those lonely times. She came to my wife's funeral 2 years ago and has said many kind words to me. Her kindness and her generosity will never be forgotten.
I shall miss her and I have felt I lost a very good friend.

Words cannot describe how caring and loving a person we found Karleen Pang to be; a very genuine and extremely generous person who always went out of her way to help others in times of need. Karleen's passing is such a shock and Beryl and Bryan will miss her so much, she was a great friend of Beryls for over forty years. Our heartfelt thoughts, love and sympathy go out to dear Pang, Kim, Ka-Ling and all the family.

A light has gone out of our lives.

My condolences to the family.
I wish I could understand how she went overboard. The railings on the tub come up to my hip and I’m 6’2”. She was nearly 70? How could she have just fallen overboard? It’s not like they leave gates open….

My deepst sympathies to the whole Pang family. This is such shocking and terrible news. Mrs Pang was a wonderful woman, strong so as always to do the right thing and so kind hearted. Mrs Pang would go out of her way to help in any way she could. I worked with Mr and Mrs Pang for quite some time and have many fond memories. I will miss you.

Like so many, we have happy, happy memories of both Karleen and Chi Ming. To say Karleen was 'Special' dosen't even come close. She was one on lifes naturally lovely people. As sad as I was when the 'Pangs' closed due to their retirement I remember saying, "If ever two people deserved a long and happy retirement, they did" It is no exaggeration to say, the world is a little poorer today with out the 'Magic' that was Karleen Pang. Bless her soul.

I’m still in shock and disbelief at the news; I can hardly bear to think of her last thoughts, fears and emotions (I find myself having to divert my thoughts at those times). I did love her strength of character, it was one thing I found so endearing about her, she was her own person and incredible caring and vigorous, both of which were her way of caring. God bless you Karleen. There was always a soft spot in my heart for you. ****

I was only small when i met Ka-Ling at St.Johns School and we became friends and her mum and dad were very welcoming people and i can remember many hours round at their house.Although we have been in touch as we have grown up i have not seen any of the family for a while and i would just like them to know my thoughts are with them, i know Karleen's passing will be such a loss to them. My fondest wishes and regards to you all, and a special thought to my old friend Ka-Ling, thinking of you

I am still shocked with this tragic news and do not understand how it could happen. It is so hard to believe that how come horrible tragic had to happen to our dear Mrs. Pang who was a wonderful and caring person. I had a chance to work for her and Mr. Pang for a short period and during that time Mrs.Pang was so caring and kind. Mrs. Pang had a pure heart and only wished good things for everyone she knew. I have been thinking of Mr. and Mrs. Pang since I am back to Thailand and I have spoken of Mr. and Mrs. Pang very often to my family about how nice they were. This is not fair to Pang family at all.My Deapest sympaties to everyone in the family especially Mr.Pang (Please take care of yourself). All lovely memories will always be in my heart.I will miss you, Mrs. Pang.

I am very shocked that this very kind lady has passed away. I had met her a few weeks ago and introduced my son to her. I had known her for 41 years when I first came to England. Mrs Pang we shared so many laughs,Im glad for the time we walked the path togther it was such a special gift. All my love to you, and may your light shine forever. Bob x x
