YOUNG sportsmen lost their leg hair to raise money for charity.
Rugby players in the sixth form at the Thomas Hardye School in Dorchester took part in a charity leg waxing session to raise funds for Comic Relief.
The mass hair removal was just one event organised by students at the school in a weeklong bout of fundraising.
Richard Nicholls, who is assistant year co-ordinator for the sixth form, said the school's student union has been choosing which events to stage.
"This was one of the highlights.
"The girls were getting involved, stripping the rugby team's legs for a pound a go."
Other fundraising events planned include a pupil version of popular TV gameshow Deal Or No Deal.
Mr Nicholls said: "Raising money for charity is one of the student union's main focuses. We try and get the whole school involved."
Rugby player Jon Moller, who is in year 13 , was happy to help raise cash for Comic Relief - but unhappy with the pain involved.
"It hurt quite a lot. I've never felt pain like that before," he said. "That's the first leg waxing experience I've ever had - and the last as well."
