A FATHER and son were rescued after a fire broke out in the engine of their boat.
The pair had gone fishing on their 20ft vessel Bad Obsession and were just outside the entrance to Portland Harbour when they raised the alarm.
Portland Coastguard said a middle-aged man and his nine-year-old son were on board.
Weymouth inshore lifeboat was launched to rescue the pair.
They were towed to the safety of Weymouth Marina on Thursday where they were met by coastguards.
