Christmas tree collection service for ‘recycle for Dorset’ users

RESIDENTS who use the new ‘recycle for Dorset’ collection service can have their real Christmas tree collected in the New Year.

The Dorset Waste Partnership will help people in Christchurch and East Dorset dispose of their trees after the tinsel and baubles are packed away for another year.

Residents have three options:

• If you subscribe to the optional garden waste collection, you can cut your tree into small pieces – with no large branches or logs – and put it in your garden waste bin or bag for your first collection after January 6
• If you don’t receive a garden waste collection, but would like your tree to be composted, you can take it to your nearest household recycling centre
• Alternatively, you can put your tree next to your rubbish bin on your first collection after January 6. This will be taken to landfill Artificial trees should be kept, or taken to your local household recycling centre.
