9:48am Saturday 22nd December 2012 in News
AN adult and child were rescued from a car which became stuck in flood water on the West Stafford bypass.
Firefighters were called to the scene at 5.26pm yesterday.
A technical rescue crew from Weymouth and two fire engines from Dorchester were called out.
Firefighters used wading gear to lead the adult and child to safety.
A spokesman said the service was called out to several similar incidents across the county last night where motorists have ignored road closure signs and entered flood water.
She said: "These are in place for your own safety - please find an alternative route."

Regards the predicament, the same could be said for mariners who disregards the advice of the coast guard and go to sea when the weather is against them. (They rarely are).
