Driver safe after car overturns on roundabout near the BIC

A male driver had a lucky escape after his car mounted the pavement and ended up on its side on the Exeter Road roundabout yesterday afternoon.

Firefighters from Springbourne and Westbourne stabilised the vehicle and assisted the driver at 2.30pm.

See they've let the wannabe journalist lose with the reporting again.

'Scrambled' is maybe a tad over dramatic and I don't think you'll find 'stablised' is spelt quite like that. Great effort for four lines though.

Oops.. fair comment. Though equally I'm not convinced 'smile on' is particularly good phraseology..

Either way, these people are paid to write - I'm not.

Some dictionary definitions of ‘Scrambled’
To move or climb hurriedly, especially on the hands and knees.
To mix or throw together haphazardly.
To gather together in a hurried or disorderly fashion
An arduous hike or climb over rough terrain.
An unceremonious scuffle or struggle. (:o))

The headline states that the car overturned but the actual article states that it ended up on its side which could have easily happened after it had overturned. lncidentally l always understood that scrambled meant a method of having eggs and smoked salmon on wholemeal toast for Sunday Brunch washed down with a glass of Bucks Fizz

Although it's impossible to tell from a single picture, the most likely manner in which the car got into this position would be to have mounted the roundabout and fallen onto it's side. Overturn means to place upsidedown, in which case at best this car may have momentarily overturned...

Easy to be critical without knowing the facts. Driver could have been avoiding another car or a cyclist or pedestrian?

If I were designing a roundabout that would flip as many cars as possible, it would look exactly like that one!
