Terror teen is banned from estate
A 17-year-old from Poole who terrorised residents on an estate has been given a two-year Asbo.
The teenager from Canford Heath, who the court ordered cannot be named, was given the anti-social behaviour by Wimborne Magistrates.
"This young man was at the centre of a group that caused great annoyance and distress to the residents and shopkeepers around the Waterloo Parade and parts of Canford Heath," said Ian Cooke, anti-social behaviour co-ordinator for the Borough of Poole.
He added: "This Asbo sends out a clear message that the Borough of Poole and Dorset Police will not tolerate anti-social behaviour and will use whatever powers are appropriate to protect the community."
Magistrates were told the youth had caused alarm, distress and intimidation to residents and businesses on the Waterloo estate by associating in large groups, damaging property and being drunk.
He is prohibited from entering the Waterloo Estate and is banned from the Co-op in Creekmoor Lane, Asda in Culliford Crescent and Tesco in Tower Park.
He has to leave any premises in the Poole area when asked to by a person in authority and is barred from using threatening, intimidating or other behaviour likely to cause harassment, alarm or distress.
He would break his Asbo if he drank, possessed or was under the influence of alcohol in any public street or public open space in Poole and caused or incited others to cause criminal damage in the Poole area.
The teenager is also barred from associating with four other named youngsters in a public place in Poole unless he is accompanied by a member of the youth offending team, youth services, Borough of Poole representative or a responsible person aged 21 or over.
He is subject to a curfew between 10pm and 6am and is not allowed to congregate in a group of more than four people unless accompanied.

If it's not too much trouble I would rather his photo be shown so I can stay away from him or better than that perhaps a few Posters strategically placed around the area or would that encourage embarrassment?

This does not sound as if this is going to worry him one bit. If he has caused so much trouble over a wide area, why is his picture not available so that he can be seen.

so if the courts wont name him and we dont know what he looks like , what good is the asbo he has been ' awarded ' he will still be free to walk around causing bother to people because nobody can identify him . He might be known in his own area but what if he comes into other areas ? release their names and pictures so at least we have a chance to protect ourselves and property from these yobs ..... better still put them in the army for a few years to teach them some manners and discipline

I totally agree with everyone. Let everyone see what this yobo looks like just because he isn't allowed in one area obviously it's not going to stop him from going into another. Why isn't there a photo of him & his name released this protecting the criminal is getting beyond a joke.

[italic][bold]"This Asbo sends out a clear message that the Borough of Poole and Dorset Police will not tolerate anti-social behaviour and will use whatever powers are appropriate to protect the community."[/bold][/italic]
Does Poole’s Anti-social Behaviour Coordinator actually believe this nonsense or is he daft enough to think the rest of us will.
ASBO’s are a complete failure, I dread to think how much of our money is wasted on employing Council Jobsworths to administer this non-deterrent.

If his name and photo aren't published, presumably shop keepers and others will have to throw out every youngster they see, and who sees a group of more than 4 will have to report them just in case he's one of them.
How ridiculous not letting people know who this moron is.

Wow!! I bet this lad is at home, trembling over the severity of his punishment.
Either that, or he will soon be back on his usual territory, bragging to all his mates about his new "Badge" and his new found status.

THE VERY FACT THAT THIS VERSION OF THE VILLAGE IDIOT WITH ONE EYEBROW IS LABELLED "TERROR TEEN" IS ENOUGH FOR ALL THE OTHER LOW LIFE SCUM TO ELEVATE HIM TO THEIR EQUIVALANT OF A HERO.
WHAT IS NEEDED IS SOME FORM OF HUMILIATION ATTACHED TO THESE PEOPLE SO THAT SOCIETY CAN SAY, "ENOUGH"!
NOT THIS PAP!

Would the Authorities care to comment on this punishment - is it still a punitive option which could supplement the Asbo?

Surely, as the Court and the Police are publicly funded institutions, their actions are a matter of public record ?
I would encourage anyone involved with this case, and that must cumulatively be quite a few people, to obtain the names and publish them here. Anonymity is a privilege that these people abandoned when they took to offending society in this way.
Name and shame. Now.
Many parts of the country have websites giving details of these offenders, even the Echo itself would publish your name if you got nicked for not having vehicle tax, or a TV license, so please - someone with the knowledge - do come forward and do us all favour.

Why do people from Australia think they have a right to comment on this? The British justice system is working as we have voted for it to work. No need for vigilantisim here, thank you, from people living half a world away.

[bold]Asbos???[/bold]
Look , a an ankle chain with a heavy metal ball to drag along , plus a large purple stripe across the cheeks(indelible for 6 months) should do the trick.
Failing that send them to [bold]Australia[/bold] [bold]for[/bold] [bold]correction[/bold] , the [bold]Aussies[/bold] know what they are talking about. Life could be very tough out on the Bundhu with all those flies!!

HEY! WE HAVE ENOUGH OF US EX CRIMS HERE ALREADY!
WHY INFLICT THAT SCUM ON OUR FLIES?
ALTHOUGH, ON SECOND THOUGHTS, HOW ABOUT ALL OF US, WHO HAVE SEEN THE LIGHT AND AMMENDED OUR WAYS COME HOME AND ALL THE SCUM GET SENT TO AUS.
THIS WAS WHY IT WAS SET UP IN THE FIRST PLACE!
SORT OF A REVERSE COLONISATION!
AT LEAST WE WILL BE ABLE TO SPEAK THE LANGUAGE (SORT OF).

Laurie, the state of this country you will be better off where you are, as I keep telling my nephew and his family who are out there also.
It is not only crime and the evil yobs as depicted in the story above (oh yes another 66 year old man attacked and beaten whilst waiting for a bus, by yobbos again ).
We have a rubbish government, rubbish financial issues, high costs.
Without being rude, stay where you are. Oh yes, we value your thoughts unlike some.

THE THING THAT YOU HAVE AND I DONT IS THAT YOU ARE AT HOME!
I AM WITH WHOM I WANT TO BE WITH BUT NOT WHERE I WANT TO BE!
LIFE IS SO GOOD BUT THERE IS ALWAYS THAT LITTLE MORE THAT YOU WANT.
WE HAVE THE SAME CRAP OVER HERE THAT YOU HAVE OVER THERE.
WE SHOULD ALL VALUE WHAT WE HAVE AND TRY TO HOLD ON TO THE GOOD STUFF!
OTHERWISE THE SCUM WINS!
I THINK MY WIFE WANTS A DIVORCE!
