Keep fit activities go green

THE more active you are the younger and fitter you feel, as the saying goes, and Tess Dickson of Bridport TLC is helping to prove that.

The environmental artist, from Bridport's award-winning green campainers, has agreed to help with a special one day workshop organised by the National Association for Providers of Activities for Older People.

This new training course, for activity organisers and other interested people, is one of many that NAPA have organised in Dorset.

She will be showing how to make displays using recyclable materials that do not cost anything.

Tess will be encouraging all decorative ideas, including flowers, animals and birds to show how art can be fun, inexpensive and involving.

NAPA is a voluntary organisation that strongly believes that being active is essential to everyone. It is dedicated to enabling older people to enjoy a range of activity whilst living in care homes.

The workshop will be held on on Monday November 12 at Stratton Village Hall, Stratton, near Dorchester from 10am until 4pm. Lunch and all refreshments will be included.

The price for NAPA members is £55 and for non-members £65.

To book a place and for more information call Delia Silvester on 07970 751757.
