FORMER Yeovil Town forward Gavin McCallum is expected to finalise a permanent deal with Weymouth in the next couple of days.

The Canadian, who spent a spell on loan at Dorchester Town last term, has impressed Terras' boss Jason Tindall throughout pre-season.

Tindall said: "Gavin will be signing for us and hopefully that will happen in the next couple of days.

"He has done extremely well since he has been with us and he will be a good signing."

Tindall has also not given up hope of landing defender Joel Kitamirike while fellow trialist Boris Pesic has returned to Croatia.

Tindall added: "Boris is not training with us now but he might be coming back. As for Joel he is still here and I would like to bring him in but it is difficult at the moment in terms of money.

"It is not easy finding the right players. Joel has Champions League experience with Chelsea and he would be a good signing but there are other offers on the table for him."

Tindall will also reveal the identity of his club captain in the next couple of days.

He said: "I have made up my mind who is going to have the job and I will be announcing that to the players soon."
