Ford: It's not over for Zabik
STRUGGLING: Karol Zabik
STRUGGLING: Karol Zabik

MATT Ford insists Pirates fans have not seen the last of Karol Zabik.

The young Pole has been replaced in the Poole Castle Cover team by Magnus Zetterstrom after only a couple of months with the Dorset outfit.

Zabik, a former world under-21 champion with undoubted talent, has struggled to make a consistent impact on the British scene this term.

He has been hampered by a catalogue of injuries, albeit usually self-induced, and is currently sidelined with two broken ribs and a broken shoulder blade sustained in a spill in Sweden.

Poole Castle Cover chief Ford said: "We have said to Karol go home and get yourself fit. We'll assess the situation in a couple of months' time'.

"There is no falling out. We are on good terms with him. He is very happy with what we have done as a club.

"It's just a case of him really being fit and being more mentally tuned in to British circuits.

"He has lacked a bit of confidence getting used to the English tracks.

"We're just giving him more time. This is not the end of Karol Zabik at Poole.

"He knows it himself. It's just not the right time for him now.

"Let's not worry about that. When he is ready, and I don't know if that is this season, next season or the season after that, Karol will ride for Poole again."
