TWO Dorset men will brave a risky rally trip dodging rogue bandits, floodplains and herds of wild horses.

Team Ocelot, made up of long-term friends Jeremy Marks-Terrey and Wayne Munn, is taking on the 10,000-mile Mongolia Charity Rally for children's causes.

Their £315 Suzuki Vitara will go through France, Belgium, Germany, the Czech Republic, Hungary, Romania, Moldova, Ukraine, Russia, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgizstan, and Mongolia.

Jeremy nominated children's charities to benefit from the rally after he became a dad for the first time in September 2006.

He said: "We will be helping SOS Children, Save the Children UK Mongolia programme and Julia's House Hospice.

"They are doing such important work that we're willing to drive around the world in a £315 car to raise awareness and funds for their efforts."

On their way to the finishing line in Ulaan Bataar, the team will be uploading digital camera footage documenting their travels.

Wayne, who works for the Defence Support Group in Bovington, will use his vehicle electrician skills to ensure the car makes it.

Team Ocelot will begin the rally on July 5 from London and expect to complete it by the middle of August.

Other than fellow ralliers, the men will be facing the elements on their own with no support or rescue crews.

Jeremy said: "This adventure is appealing because of the unique nature of the event and its inherent element of danger.

"As dangerous as it sounds it's nothing compared to the dangers and challenges faced by many children in Mongolia day in, day out and we want to raise awareness of this fact."

After the rally the men's car will be donated to the Children's Development Protection Fund and auctioned off to raise funds for their work in Mongolia.
