CHILDREN at Manor Park First School have been working with Kingston Maurward College students to create a haven for wildlife within the school grounds.
Manor Park has secured funding from the BBC Breathing Places project to improve its grounds for wildlife and the school community.
Pupils have planted a small orchard as well as nearly 400 hedgerow trees and shrubs. They have also been creating log-piles for woodland creatures.
The project has received support from parents and teachers.
Parent-governor at Manor Park Sean Cooch, who is also a Natural England advisor, said: "The student help has been invaluable. We aimed to get every child - that's around 370 school children - to plant at least one tree and I think we are almost there."
Countryside management teacher at Kingston Maurward Tom Goss said: "It has been a great experience for the students to help the children and be involved with an exciting local project."
