No party in the Park for Easton

| NO EXCUSES: Easton boss Chris Wilson |
WITCHAMPTON UNITED 2 EASTON UNITED 0
EASTON player-manager Chris Wilson described his side's performance at Crichel Park as "shocking" and then insisted that they "must put it right" in their remaining three games.
Witchampton took advantage of the away side's lacklustre display by scoring twice in the second half, and with Bournemouth Uni-versity and Wareham Rangers both holding two games in hand on the Portlanders, their chances of finishing second in the Dorset Senior League now appear remote.
Wilson said: "Due to the conditions it was virtually unplayable in the first half.
"The first ten minutes was okay but then a blizzard dumped on top of us and with the wind it was very difficult to put anything together.
"We then went out in the second half and put on probably our worst performance of the season. Defensively we were really sloppy and in possession we looked clueless.
"It was extremely disappointing and there are no excuses because we had a very strong side out. Witchampton just adapted to the conditions better and capitalised."
Keeper Wilson even summed up his own performance as poor. He added: "The first goal came from a bit of a mix up in communication at a cross and the second one was a Paul Robinson versus Croatia moment. Andy Perkins knocked the ball back and it bobbled past me as I went to kick it clear.
"Collectively it was just not good enough and now we must put it right. I want to finish as high as we can and it is important that we don't just let all the hard work we have put in this season go to waste in our remaining games."
Despite the defeat, Easton continue to lie one place below runaway leaders Chickerell United but Bournemouth and Wareham are only one and two points adrift respectively.
Wilson said: "Chickerell have set the standard this year. They have been absolutely brilliant and we want to match that.
"Some major developments are going to be taking place at Grove Playing Fields which will put us in a position where if we did win the league one day we would be able to go up and that is our main aim."
