YOUTH musical theatre group Bridport Operatic Workshop is taking its audience on a trip to the seaside.
The group has been gearing up for this year's production of Willy Russell's Our Day Out, thanks to a series of workshops last autumn and rehearsals since Christmas.
The play, by the writer of Educating Rita, Blood Brothers and Shirley Valentine, is an ideal vehicle for the dynamic group, says director Miles Bell.
He said: "The show is a great showcase for the 22-strong cast, being a funny and moving story about a day trip to the seaside for a bunch of under-achieving kids from an inner city school.
"With the musical numbers under the direction of Emma McEvoy, a great day out is guaranteed for all."
Performances at Bridport Arts Centre continue today and tomorrow. Tickets are £7 for adults, £3.50 for children/students. The box office number is 01308 424204.
