PORTLAND athlete Debbie Cain is celebrating after winning a silver medal at one of the largest indoor sporting event in the country.
The 40-year-old was among more than 2,200 competitors who raced at the 2006 Concept2
British Indoor Rowing Championship at the National Indoor Arena in Birmingham.
Racing on the Concept2 Indoor Rower, Cain
completed the 2,000-metre row in an impressive
time of seven minutes,
51.2 seconds to earn the silver medal in
the women's 40-44
years lightweight
category.
The 7,000-strong crowd was wowed by amazing performances from a wide variety of competitors from Olympians to
schoolchildren and paraplegics to World War II veterans.
